Customer Review: The Golden Compass was an imaginative and innovative book, inspiring novel viewpoints of personal spirituality, among other things. The plot and events are so complex that compressing it all into a single-sitting movie is ambitious. The elisions that the compression required make the action skip... more info
Customer Review: Although I didn't care for this movie, my niece loved it and wanted it as a birthday gift. She likes Hayden Christensen and suspenseful movies, so this was a perfect selection for her. The movie had action and lots of teleportation, but highly believable, it is not.
Customer Review: I have the Charlton Heston version of this film, titled "The Omega Man," and can say that "I Am Legend" is a great remake of the story. While TOM was more religious in nature, which was accepted at the time (it was in essence a Vegetable Myth story,) IAL takes a more objective view of the story. And... more info
Customer Review: Simply put, this is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a movie to make one think, make one review life, and; yes, make one cry. My husband and I had been hesitant to view this film because it had received such negative reviews. Finally today I decided to watch 'Bucket List' because I knew,... more info
Customer Review: I am a fan of the science fiction genre but there is no amount of lipstick you could put on this pig to make it palatable. This is a truly terrible movie.
Customer Review: Cloverfield is a tragic love story. It begins with two lovers together and ends the same way. The first part of the plot is about giant alien destroying a city, but the subplot is about our hero trying to get to his heroine and save her. The movie starts with our hero, Rob waking up after... more info
Customer Review: WATER HORSE is your basic "boy and his dog" movie except in the setting of 1940's Scotland in the midst of World War II, and instead of a dog it's the Loch Ness Monster. It's very predictable (boy gets attached to a pet and has to eventually say an emotional farewell to it) and has a simple plot,... more info
Customer Review: This is another of those fantasy films that serves its purpose in that it entertains the viewer, no matter what the age. It's not among the elite in its genre, but it is a story that hooks you in by the 20-minute mark and you just go along for the ride, mainly to see how things will turn out.more info
Customer Review: I know "Fool's Gold" is supposed to be mindless fun. The treasure-seeking story doesn't have to be believable as long as the film is fun to watch. I liked Matthew McConaughey's "Sahara" for what it was: good, clean fun of watching our hero doing what he is expected to do. I'm sorry to say this, but... more info
